The teachers, parents and the Principal must work harder to ensure that the education target of 75% MPS can be achieved.

History of the school

The E. Barretto Sr. NHS is a general secondary school located at Barangay Pansol, Calamba City. It was established somewhere in the first quarter of 1972. The local barangay council headed by Mr. Cuevas (Barangay Captain) and Mr. Rodolfo M. Pisigan (then Principal of E. Barretto Sr. Elementary School) collaborated with each other in preparing all the necessary documents. The school was formally open her door for the students on SY 1972-1973. There were more or less 64 enrolees then. As it open, Mr. Rodolfo M. Pisigan was promoted to other school and Mr. Apigo took the helm of Principalship, thus, he becomes the first school head of E. Barretto Sr. NHS. Mr. Apigo carries the title of Assistant Principal. The school's original name is "Eduardo Barretto Sr. Memorial High School" in honor of Don Eduardo Barretto Sr. who donated the site of the elementary school. The class starts at about 4:00 in the afternoon and ends at almost 8:00 in the evening. The original teachers were the elementary school teachers who teaches after their time in the elementary school ends. Mr. Apigo was followed by Mrs. Hilaria Molinyawe and then Mrs. Alicia V. Llamas. Mrs. Morales is the last Assistant Pincipal of the school. Mr. Ernesto D. Lindo assumed the Teacher In Charge (TIC) position on 1988. Still inside the elementary school compound, the asecondary school grows in terms of enrollees. The time to look for her own site forever became a must.
The TIC with the help of Barangay Chairman Leopoldo Navasero was able to acquire a piece of land located at the rear of the elementary school site. It was an open space of Pansol Hot Spring Village. It has an area of more or less 4500 square meter. Mr. Edmundo Kaymo, one of the incorporator donated the land. One half of the oen space wasd donated to the school and the other half, to the Municipality of Calamba. A few months later, the Municipality of Calamba through a resolutions, donated her share to the school, thus making the school site 4500 sq.m.
It is situated in a 4500 sq. meter lot donated by Mr. Edmundo Kaymo in behalf of Pansol Hot Spring Village Inc. The school caters not only high school students from barangay Pansol. It also served students from Barangays Bucal, Halang, Lecheria, La Mesa, Real, Parian, Lawa, Crossing and some barangays in the poblacion areas such as II, III, IV, V, VI and VII. Some students where from the nearby Los Banos and Cabuyao towns. The Principal of E. Barretto Sr. NHS tried to open an annex at Barangay Lawa with the help Brangay Chairman Marudo. Enrolment was push through and the first class will be housed at the barangay day care school. There were some enrollees but Canlubang District reacted negatively. So Mr. Lindo decided to talk with Mrs. Legaspi, the Principal of Punta NHS. Thus, Lawa NHS- Punta Annex was established. Then, the Barangay chairman Castrillo of Barangay Lecheria sought the cooperation of Mr. Lindo to open an annex school at Barangay Lecheria. The E. Barretto Sr. NHS annex was established in Lecheria where Mrs. Ma. Luisa N. Tamayo served as Teacher In charge. As the E. Barretto Sr. NHS- Lecheria Annex was institutionalized, Mr. Lindo tried to open another annex at Villa de Calamba at Barangay La Mesa but it did not materialize.
